Growing information
Hardy to USDA zone 4-5 but will do better in USDA 6 and 7. Orchard recommendation plantings at 20 foot grids on gently sloping land. Walnuts prefer deep, well-drained loams with a soil pH of 6 to 7. Avoid heavy clay loams and soils with a pH below 6 if possible. Trees grow to 70 feet. With some of the oldest cultivars found in mountainous regions of the Himalaya's we feel that these strains are ideal for rocky mountain areas. Often difficult to grow we are working hard with our collaborators to bring you the best trees.

Native to southeastern Europe, India, and China the range of the Carpathian walnut is not fully known. We have observed high production trees growing up to zone 4. One of our parent trees is found in the finger lakes region.
